Our latest software release has significantly increased the capabilities of <\/span>Multi-Instrument Mode<\/span><\/a> with distinct windows that allow simultaneous interactivity with multiple software-defined instruments. Moku Version 3.1 also brings the Logic Analyzer<\/a> to Moku:Pro and Moku:Lab, standardizing the number of available instruments across all Moku devices to 13, and adds a range of other improvements to optimize applications from audio engineering and lock-in detection to custom instrumentation development and precision data logging.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additional updates include the I2S protocol now available to decode data in audio tests, improved data logging for the <\/span>Data Logger<\/span><\/a> and all instruments with an embedded logger, better noise performance for Moku:Pro through an improved ADC blending algorithm, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

See more with new multi-window functionality for Multi-Instrument Mode across Moku devices<\/b><\/h2>\n

Moku Version 3.1 delivers a significant improvement to <\/span>Multi-Instrument Mode<\/span><\/a> across the Moku device portfolio. Now, you can use up to four software-defined instruments in their own dedicated windows during multi-instrument test configurations when using the Moku desktop app (Figure 1). This upgrade enables a bird\u2019s-eye view of experimental setups by letting you respond faster to critical test developments and make necessary adjustments in real time. The multi-window feature allows you to simultaneously interact with instruments in different slots, or adjust the settings of one instrument and instantly see the effect in other instruments\u2019 measurements.<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, you can now adjust the settings of the <\/span>Waveform Generator<\/span><\/a> and observe the results immediately in both the time and frequency domains, while simultaneously monitoring the system\u2019s closed-loop response with the <\/span>Frequency Response Analyzer<\/span><\/a>. Need to monitor the output of a custom instrument enabled through <\/span>Moku Cloud Compile<\/span><\/a>? Use the <\/span>Oscilloscope<\/span><\/a> while fine-tuning your custom instrument\u2019s register settings, and see the behavior change in real time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Achieve more with new instrument upgrades across Moku devices<\/b><\/h2>\n

Moku Version 3.1 brings more powerful upgrades to our suite of software-defined instruments, underscoring our commitment to delivering a new, modern class of test solutions that get better with new features over time. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Logic Analyzer is now available for all Moku hardware, including a new I2S protocol in the embedded Protocol Analyzer feature<\/b><\/p>\n

The software-defined Logic Analyzer<\/a> instrument is now available for <\/span>Moku:Pro<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Moku:Lab<\/span><\/a> devices to help ensure a consistent user experience and improve custom code portability across the Moku product portfolio. This addition standardizes the total number of available instruments across the Moku product family to 13. One major benefit delivered by this versatile instrument is the embedded Protocol Analyzer, which gives you more flexible ways to monitor, decode, and debug high-speed serial interfaces. <\/span><\/p>\n

With this update, the Logic Analyzer is also deployable in <\/span>Multi-Instrument Mode<\/span><\/a> for all Moku devices. You can now link this instrument in a custom test system to analyze mixed signals with digital encoding and decoding at the same time as analog characterization. Or, use it to stimulate and monitor custom instrumentation written and deployed using Moku Cloud Compile.<\/span><\/p>\n

Users around the world have been asking for the ability to leverage the I2S protocol in their experiments, and we\u2019re excited to let you all know that it\u2019s now available in the Protocol Analyzer, an embedded feature in the Logic Analyzer instrument. You can use this feature to decode audio data in audio test systems, automotive setups, and other experiments. It\u2019s easy to monitor the digital data going into an audio CODEC, as well as the analog signal generated, by combining the Logic Analyzer with the <\/span>Oscilloscope<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Spectrum Analyzer<\/span><\/a> in <\/span>Multi-Instrument Mode<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Logic Analyzer is available now for all Moku:Pro and Moku:Lab Full-suite Bundle users with a free software update. For Base Bundle users, it\u2019s available as an optional, for-purchase download by visiting our <\/span>webstore<\/span><\/a> or <\/span>contacting us<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leverage significantly improved functionality for long data logging sessions and deep memory acquisitions<\/b><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve strengthened data capturing abilities in the <\/span>Data Logger<\/span><\/a> and all instruments that use embedded data logging or deep memory mode, including the <\/span>Phasemeter<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Lock-in Amplifier<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>PID Controller<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Digital Filter Box<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>FIR Filter Builder<\/span><\/a>. Plus, you can now reliably capture and save more than 60 million points at 5 GS\/s with the Moku:Pro <\/span>Oscilloscope<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Upload and reload Moku Cloud Compile bitstreams directly from the client<\/b><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve improved the user experience for <\/span>Moku Cloud Compile<\/span><\/a>, enabling you to deploy Moku Cloud Compile bitstreams directly from the <\/span>desktop<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>iPad<\/span><\/a> apps. This update makes it easier to share custom capabilities with colleagues or deploy them on multiple Moku devices.<\/span><\/p>\n

New output voltage limits are available for the PID Controller instrument<\/b><\/p>\n

You can now set limits on the <\/span>PID Controller<\/span><\/a> output to avoid potentially overdriving external devices or equipment. For example, it\u2019s now easier to protect piezoelectric transducer (PZT) actuators from over-voltage damage, with support for setting different thresholds for positive and negative voltages.<\/span><\/p>\n

The maximum frequency of the Lock-in Amplifier for Moku:Go is now 30 MHz<\/b><\/p>\n

With this update, you can take advantage of increased performance to demodulate higher signal frequencies and extend the auxiliary output with the <\/span>Lock-in Amplifier<\/span><\/a> instrument for <\/span>Moku:Go<\/span><\/a> \u2014 making the best-value lock-in amplifier on the market even better.
